Rock Band’s newest update brings Song Exporter

Booting up your copy of Rock Band today will garner the ability to export songs from the disc for use in ‘future Rock Band titles’, located in the options menu.

The total exported song size comes to a large 1.71 gig and costs 400 MS Points / £3.40, but has the option to delete specific songs, should you want to.

Update: The European version also copies the extra tracks that were DLC in the US version. The whole process takes roughly 10 minutes.

Update 2: Songs not carried over are “Enter Sandman” by Metallica, “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath (cover), “Run to the Hills” by Iron Maiden (cover), and curiously, “Monsoon” by Tokio Hotel (which is a DLC song included on the European disc).
