Nokia N96 to feature BBC iPlayer
Those of you out there who are planning on getting Nokia’s N96 may be interested to know that you can now get BBC Iplayer on your phone, so if your in to watching videos in eye strain-o-vision, you’re sorted.
Obviously this requires that you have a reasonably fast 3G connection, with a fair data tariff on your mobile network, or you could alternatively use a wifi connection.
E3: Top Gear on Gran Turismo TV

Top Gear was among the video content coming to GT TV. High Definition was mentioned…Will top gear be in HD? Thats what I want to know, because that’d be awesome.
BBC: UK Games industry needs brains
The computer games industry in Britain is suffering because of a lack of people with the right skills.
Freesat from BBC & ITV

BBC and ITV just launched Freesat, a subscription free Satellite TV service which promises 200 channels by the end of the year.
To get this you will need to pay a one off fee to get the satellite and decoding box installed.
This could be a good option if you want the freeview channels but don’t live in an area which can receive them over the aerial, or a fast internet connection.
For those of you out there who have an HD TV and dont plan on getting a HD subscription service in the future, a Freesat HD box might be for you. Currently this service only offers BBC HD, but according to the website ITV HD will be launching soon on the Freesat service.
If you go for an HD Digital Television Recorder box, you’ll get a recording feature similar to SKY + which according to the Freesat website; is capable of recording up to 160 hours of standard-definition or 80 hours of high-definition TV.
Sky has been offering a Freesat service of their own for years, they do not however offer an HD freesat service to my knowledge, this is a major selling point of BBC & ITV’s freesat.
I am sure there is good demand for an HD subscription free service.

BBC Iplayer - Unofficial PS3 Solution
With the BBC Iplayer now officially released for Apples Iplayer and more recently the Nintendo’s Wii console, people have been wondering…why is it not out for the PS3 or 360? surely it wouldnt be too much trouble to make at least the web based Iplayer compatible for those browsers right?
Well a programmer has created a PS3 browser compatible site www.ps3iplayer.com
“It’s mainly a demonstration of how easily the BBC could support the PS3 with their Wii version. This does nothing more than mask your PS3’s user-agent string and makes half a dozen changes to make the JavaScript and CSS function correctly on the PS3. It only took a day to produce, so come on BBC - how about implementing this properly?’”
It isn’t the application solution, personally I prefer the web based solution any way as you don’t have to wait ages for downloads, eating up your bandwidth for something which will just expire in a week or whatever anyway.
So visit www.ps3iplayer.com on your PS3 to check it out
