UK ADSL users to get improved speed & stability?

Millions of broadband users could see download speeds rise by 1.5mbps by fitting an I-Plate. BT has claimed this after results from a test conducted in 36,000 homes, of which some houses managed to gain up to 4mbps.

The device is essentially a filter which reduces electrical interference from Lightning, Televisions and other home wiring which interferes with the quality of the signal.

The device requires that the household has a NTE 5 master socket, BT estimated that nine million households have the NTE 5 master socket.

The I-Plate is expected to retail between £10 and £15
