Website Wednesday #7 - Free Image Manipulation
This week, two excellent alternative Free of charge image manipulation programs which you should try out.
The Gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program)
Most images you see on this site have been edited at some point by myself in The Gimp, a Free image manipulation package which has pretty much all the features you could want for your image manipulation needs.
I myself learnt to use most of The Gimp’s features through experimentation, but if If you’re new to image manipulation all together it may take some time to get used to the interface. Check out the documentation at http://www.gimp.org/docs/
The Gimp is compatible with Linux, Windows and Mac OS X systems.
Originally intended as a free alternative for Microsoft Paint, which comes included with Windows. Paint.net has come a long way.
Currently Paint.net is only to my knowledge officially released for Windows operating systems, but that does not mean to say that you wont be able to run it on an alternative system. - google is your friend
