Sky Anytime

Recently Sky launched Sky Anytime

So what does this mean ? Well if you have a PVR3 or HD sky box, then you will now have additional temporary recordings which an editor considers popular and sets to download for you, the recordings are not counted alongside your personal recordings, because they are on Sky’s half of your hard disk, which has not been utilised up until now.

My thoughts: If you record HD films like me then your will find that they take up a lot of space on your hard disk, I really think users should have the option to utilise the space which is being used for Sky Anytime as not everybody likes the stuff that they select for you, I mean I doubt I am going to be watching the Kim Possible episodes they have recorded any time soon, I would much rather use up that space for HD films.

Another thing that is on my mind is the unused connections on these boxes, when is the USB or Ethernet port going to be utilised ?

Below is a screen shot of Sky anytime, as you can see each video they record includes a preview - why can’t they do that for the personal recordings ?

PlayStation 3 finally released in Europe!

Well the PlayStation 3 was first going to be released in Spring 2006, then it was rescheduled to November 17th 2006, then it was rescheduled again to to be released here in the UK on Friday the 23rd…So the PS3 finally hits store shelves tomorrow!

I wish gamers out there hoping to get hold of a PS3 at midnight rush tomorrow good luck!

As well as cutting edge graphics and High Definition Blue-ray movie playback, the PS3 boasts other features such as a Web browser, Image Viewer, Music Player, Video Player. A 60gb SATA hard drive comes included and if you wish to upgrade to a larger capacity disk you can!

If you are after that more advanced computing experience, you can install a compatible Linux operating system such as Yellowdog, which will give you all the functionality you need.

Last night we here at Techieweb watched & filmed the total lunar eclipse, the footage has been stuck up on youtube - enjoy!

What is a total lunar eclipse ?
